OUR APPROACH IS

Why start thinking about tomorrow's HR strategy now?

Elke Lücke.
We are facing major challenges, particularly in care and medicine - and these problems will become even more acute. Without greater international cooperation and better management of processes, it will be difficult to ensure long-term stability. If, for example, we were able to bring people from Silicon Valley to Germany, we could obtain important expertise much more quickly than would be possible through long-term education alone.

All industries that deal with technology and innovation will need to attract the best talent in order to remain competitive. It is important to broaden our view - not just regionally, but globally. We need people with experience from innovation companies and technology leaders who are active in these areas. This applies not only to mechanical engineering, where we are traditionally strong, but also to sectors such as automotive, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, robotics and other forward-looking areas. To achieve this, we need to make use of the global world.

Right now, Germany needs skilled manpower from India. We are the main hub which will help build the strategy in the global talent hunt. India plays a very unique role over there. Whenever I have trained expats on a cultural training to any South East Asian country, they wait for an India assignment.

High diversity pays off incredibly. We are seeing a 10% increase in turnover. Innovative strength is up by 50%. These are incredible figures - it would be crazy not to profit from them!

I am a great advocate of diversity of perspectives. In addition to quotas and equal rights, diversity & inclusion is also about diversity of skills. Talent is distributed internationally - and the more interconnected the world becomes, the more important it is to have a global strategy to close gaps in the team. Companies with international locations in particular should make the cultural diversity of their employees visible and utilise their perspectives and experiences for customer contact.

From the very beginning, the development of ICU was characterised by collaboration with specialists - even at an international level. Over the course of two decades, the company has worked intensively on the challenges of collaboration and leadership in a global context. Today, she is a recognised expert for work processes in the global talent management chain. In particular, topics such as mobility and mobility management are central components of modern strategies. ICUnet's strength lies in communicating these competences clearly, making them understandable to customers and continuously expanding the portfolio on this basis.

We have around 16,000 positions a year that are filled globally. We are an international company and rely heavily on recruiting talent worldwide. That is why we also search in countries where there is a surplus of skilled labour, such as in some Asian countries.

We also need partners [for our Global Talent Acquisition] - especially when it comes to cross-border collaboration, when it comes to permits, transfers, payment, local and cultural circumstances. Of course, we also have favourite partners: one of them is ICUnet, with whom we have already worked on several projects - most recently on a major transfer of colleagues from our location in Pune to Aldersbach, which was very successful.
